Low-altitude space opens new service and infrastructure models, from logistics to monitoring and the city, but needs a safe management frame and cross-sector coordination.

Session context

The session explores the potential of the low-altitude economy and the new industries forming around unmanned aircraft, airborne services, data and supporting infrastructure. Applications may appear in logistics, agriculture, survey, emergency response and urban management. Alongside market opportunity, it raises airspace, safety, technical standards, privacy, infrastructure and licensing. The focus is how to design a controlled experimental environment that gives firms room to innovate while protecting the public interest.

Guiding questions

  1. Which applications can create early value in the low-altitude economy?
  2. What infrastructure and management frame does a safe market need?
  3. How should a policy sandbox be organised to promote responsible innovation?
